Psalm 101-104

“I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise. I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.

My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me.” – Psalm‬ ‭101:1-2, 6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Hear my prayer, LORD; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.
Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD: “The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.” So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the LORD.
But you remain the same, and your years will never end.” – Psalm‬ ‭102:1-2, 18-22, 27‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. Praise the LORD, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the LORD, my soul.” – Psalm‬ ‭103:1-5, 8-22‬ ‭NIV

“Praise the LORD, my soul. LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.
The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.
All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.
I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD.” – Psalm‬ ‭104:1, 3-5, 9, 21, 27-28, 30, 33-34‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Prayer for Today

Lord You are truly everlasting!!! Amazing that the beasts of the field cry out for You to satisfy their hunger. So much more should we. You are the one who takes care of us, not the economy and  not the political party. (although that might be true for some) God my focus should be on You and to do Your will. I pray for the men that I spend some time with yesterday. I pray for their souls. May they thirst for You like the do for fun, beer, laughter, companionship and steaks. I am not worthy to be called Your son, but still You sent Your Son to die for me on the cross. As I need daily sustenance to stay alive physically, how much more do I need spiritual sustenance daily !!! Amen

Money – God or Gift – Giving

Money – God or Gift – Giving

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. (1 Timothy 6:6-10 NIV)

It says those who want to get rich. They are looking for money to fulfill them.

It is a trap. Money traps you to get into trouble and hard to get out of it.

Am I eager for money ?

Greed, envy, stealing, lust, adultery is a result of the love of money.

Earning money in an unlawful way is very attractive.

It is the little things that get to you.

Our heart for the fellowship exposes our hearts, working on Sundays.

What is pulling me away from God’s kingdom ?

Practicals

Don’t spend more than u have. Excessive desire for more than you need is sin. The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender. (Proverbs 22:7 NIV) You cannot maintain over-expenditure it will catch up with you. Budget and actual does not meet up.
Honor God by spending well. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” (Acts 20:34, 35 NIV) John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” “What should we do then?” the crowd asked. John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?” “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them. Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely—be content with your pay.” (Luke 3:7-14 NIV) Take less and give more. Where do i place my hope?
Honor God by guarding against covetousness. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” (Exodus 20:17 NIV) “Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord ?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (Proverbs 30:7-9 NIV) Whether we will spend wisely? The proof is in my spending.
