Reading for Today

Psalm 94 – 96

“The LORD is a God who avenges. O God who avenges, shine forth.

But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them.” – Psalm‬ ‭94:1, 22-23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice, “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness,

For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.’ So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’  – ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭95:6-8, 10-11 NIV

“Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth. Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns.” The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.

Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.” – ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭96:1-3, 5-6, 9-10,13 Niv

Prayer for Today

Father shoe, You are God and what you decide stands. The Israelites kept going astray even while you showed them your miracles. In your oath you send them to hell because they did not want to repent. I had a vivid dream last night where I struggled, but God you are the one who works in our hearts to keep us close to You. Father being falsely accused is not nice, I dont know what it is like being falsely accused and being condemned to death because of it. It is like I said yesterday to the bus driver, there is situations in the world and then there is God. The the guy on God’s side will win in the end. Help me to cling to you and not see the waves of the sea going up and down. I am in your life jacket that will take me to the secluded island where God’s and His people live. Amen

What is your mission on earth ?

Historically, the term “mission” was used to describe the acts of God, rather than the activities of churches.

Mission is not something the church does for God. It is the church getting in sync with the heart of God and cooperating with the activity of God on Planet Earth. – Tom Jones

What or who strenthens you ?

““Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

  • Many a times we cause the difficult circumstances that makes us suffer (Pr 19:3) but then we blame it on God instead of repenting and doing God’s will.

The LORD turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

  • Do I use the talents God has given me ?
  • We dont need super powers in ourselves but realize God will do it through us.

“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.” The LORD answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”” – ‭‭Judges‬ ‭6:13-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

  • We doubt ourselves whether we can do it.
  • If God is with us, we can accomplish anything, because nothing is impossible with God.
